Bali Process - Financial Sector Consultation & Innovation Session

For financial services B Corps, here’s a great opportunity from one of our former Standards Assessors:

On September 30, a virtual consultation and innovation session will convene members of government, and the financial sector to progress key actions in addressing labour exploitation and human trafficking. This event will be held in collaboration with the Liechtenstein Initiative for Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking.

What is the Bali Process Government and Business Forum?

The event is Co-Chaired by the Australian and Indonesian governments as part of the Bali Process and is coordinated by Walk Free, the secretariat for the Government and Business Forum (GABF). The GABF works with the private and public sectors of Bali Process member states to combat human trafficking, and forced labour in supply chains.

What does labour exploitation and human trafficking have to do with the financial sector?

Labour exploitation and human trafficking risks are embedded in capital markets. They stem from systemic failure to adequately price social externalities in investment and lending processes. Institutional investors, stock exchanges, banks and insurers are increasingly recognising their role in addressing these issues.
