An opportunity for B Corps in Melbourne to Employ Vulnerable Refugees

Hello everyone! I’d love to introduce you to a new opportunity to support vulnerable refugees in Melbourne by becoming an Employment Partner with Social Engine’s Empowering Refugees into Employment Program.

The Empowering Refugees into Employment Program aims to give vulnerable adult refugees and humanitarian entrants work experience in social enterprises and individual mentoring to equip them to enter sustainable employment. The program supports and empowers refugee communities in the South Eastern Melbourne suburbs.

The program has two stages:

  1. Participants complete an Employment Ready program (81 hours) where they gain valuable work skills in the chosen industry sector (hospitality or warehousing/logistics), learn how to navigate the Australian workplace environment and obtain an Australian work reference.

  2. Participants are then given support to search for casual work through one of the social enterprises, our Employment Partners or by using their job search skills and reference to secure employment.

We are looking for B Corps or local businesses in South East Melbourne to become one of our Employment Partners. Strong partnerships are key to the Program’s success.
