Hi - Google tells me that the realistic dollar amount to offset flight carbon is anywhere from $2 to $60 per tonne of carbon. Does anyone have a reliable science backed rate to reccommend and point to?
Hi Diana, this is correct. The cost of carbon credits varies significantly with international renewable energy carbon credits trading as low as AUD 2/t and Australian environmental planting carbon credits selling for upwards of AUD 60/t. When you say ‘realistic’, are you referring to the cost of carbon credits (t/CO2-e) or the the financially quantified impact of flights?
